Profile
Dr. Ida Maduram is a professor in the School of Education, where she works to shape the next generation of educators. Her work reflects the School of Education’s core values of competence, reflection, respect, and service.
Dr. Maduram focuses on emergent literacy and the importance of early reading and writing skills, especially in response to informational texts. She promotes culturally relevant teaching methods that help future teachers understand and honor diversity. She is also committed to special education and prepares her students to adapt lessons that support all learners.
As a teacher, mentor, and advisor, Dr. Maduram states, “My goal is to inspire my undergraduate and graduate students to think critically, understand teaching principles, and be committed to reaching all learners.”
