K–12 Licensure at North Park


The K–12 licensure program is designed for those who wish to teach art, Spanish, music, or physical education across all grade levels. Undergraduate students will declare a major in one of these subject areas and complete a K–12 education sequence, which includes foundational education courses and classroom experiences in elementary, middle, and high schools.

Interested graduate students do declare an undergraduate major but take an additional courses as needed to meet the content area requirements.

Advisors from your major’s department and the School of Education will help guide you through coursework and ensure you meet both North Park’s requirements and those set by the Illinois State Board of Education for licensure.

In addition to completing the K–12 education sequence, undergraduate students must fulfill the following credit hours in their chosen major:
