North Park’s philosophy major combines Christian, urban, and multicultural perspectives. You’ll explore the relationship between religion and philosophy, engage with Chicago’s urban environment, and study diverse philosophical viewpoints. PHIL 2010–Ancient and Medieval Philosophy
A survey of the thinkers and movements in the history of philosophy from the pre-Socratics through the late medieval and early Renaissance period.

PHIL 3515–Philosophy of Art
A seminar course on selected problems and topics in the area of aesthetics, e.g., the nature and meaning of aesthetic value, the problem of aesthetic judgment.

Philosophy grounds students in important, fundamental, and long-lasting conversations. It also provides models and strategies for thinking about things that are so novel or so profound that we might naturally not know where to begin.
